Texas vet tech camps at work to take care of sick pet patients during snowstorm that ravaged the Midwest, sacrificing her own comfort to ensuring they stay warm and fed

While the rest of us stay bundled up at home, one shelter vet tech decided to brave the storm at work to keep her precious pet patients warm, fed, safe, and cared for.

It's one thing to work from home during a snowstorm, but camping at work to make sure all of your work gets done? That certainly qualifies for Employee of the Year, if you ask us. Our vote definitely goes to this shelter vet tech who didn't go home with the rest of her team in preparation for the snowstorm that ravaged most of the US this week. She decided to camp out at work so that all of her sick pet patients would continue to get the care they needed during a time when she knew it would be difficult to get to the shelter.

She singlehandedly took care of all of the shelter's residents, administering medication when needed, feeding them, keeping them warm, and helping them feel safe in this uncertain (and cold!) time. Now that's dedication. It just goes to show that there is still good in this world; you just have to know where to look for it. The good news is, you can usually find it here at Animal Comedy, because we like to make sure you always have something pawsitive to scroll though during your day.

Another thing we can learn from this story is that the "good" or "right" thing to do isn't usually the easiest. This employee sacrificed her own comfort in order to care for these animals. We're 100% sure she would have been more relaxed and comfy at home, but she understood that some things are more important than that. We could all use this story as some heartwarming inspawration in our lives.

Can you imagine this little guy spending days at a time alone, cold, and scared from all the noise the storm made? We can't. We have to imagine that it was crucial for their survival that this employee stayed to take care of them. Even if they were left with enough food, who's to say that they wouldn't lose power? Because of her, these poor puppers and kitties not only made it through, but probably got lots of boops and love during as well!

The cats might have been okay on their own, but the puppies? No way. Puppies need constant care and attention, even if they're in a shelter. Anyone who's ever raised a puppy can tell you how much of a handful they are, whether they are in a cage or not.
